倒數第四天

今天開始放假. 我們可productive呢. Final fitting for evening dress, 拿了engagement photo (嘩! 好大張!) + guest book, 到醫院探Ka's daddy, fit了伴娘裙, 拿到了褂睡衣 (Thank you Vikki and Jenn to get that for me from HK!! 好靓, 我好鐘意呀!), 跟Vikki晚餐, 把slideshow交了給我們的DJ (Thanks Billy!). 清理了屋企一番, 又準備了些Thank You cards.

昨晚我弄了個我很喜歡的Gift Box. 原本可以借朋友的, 但後來online見到個很可愛的Gift Box, 所以自己又試試DIY. 都幾cute架.今晚... 今晚要做paper. 2 more that are due tomorrow.

Helpers Meeting

"貴人出門招風雨", 我說"貴人嫁娶招風雪"就真. Toronto已經幾年沒有十二月落大雪, 今年居然十二月一號就snow storm. 10cm雪, 又freezing rain. 希望wedding當天風和日麗就一定沒可能, 希望不要snow storm 吧. 真的不想我們的guests要stuck in traffic.

雖然外邊的路像溜冰場般滑. 雖然冷得要命, 但絕對蓋不住我們一眾wedding helpers的熱情! GM described一次我們的schedule. 大家也大概picture到當天的流程了. 我間直覺得我們的helpers team is a Super All Stars Helping Team. 個個都是醒目仔醒目女.

There are friends who helped us with little things in the background.

There are friends who are not even attending our wedding but care about it just as much.
"Just let me know if you need any help." or a simple question like "How has your wedding preparation been?" made us realize how many people care about us.
We would like to say "Thank You" to all these people.

我們的婚禮除了"幕前"的一眾好幫手外, 還有很多朋友親戚在背後幫了我們一把. 有些告訴我們那裡買東西好, 有些幫買東西, 有些幫忙搬運不同東西, 很多朋友給了很多貼是給我們, 有些朋友背後幫了我們還沒有告訴我們! 像 out-of-town guests 的 accommodation 全自動搞掂哂不用我們煩.

其實我很擔心有些朋友會因為我們沒有找他們婚禮當天幫手而誤會我們沒視他們作朋友. 但其實因為我們很東西都交了給vendors去做, 所以真的不需要太多人手幫忙. 每一句"你們要幫手就出聲啦!" 都給了我們很大的支持. 最開心是有些不來我們婚禮的朋友也很關心我們的進度, 看得出身邊有很多錫我們的人. 熟我們的人都應該清楚朋友對我們的重要性, 所以希望沒有人為着我們的安排而介懷.

在此跟一直關心我們婚禮進展的人, 幫過我們的朋友, 及跟我們說過"你們要幫手就出聲啦!"的人說聲"謝謝!".

Schedule移交典禮

今天起床時, 看看wedding schedule... ... 咦, 下個禮拜已是我們的婚禮. "下個禮拜", 聽上來好接近!

今晚跟我們超級體貼的wedding GM: Tung and Ta (aka EasTa) 進行了一個簡單而隆重的Wedding Schedule轉交儀式, 把我們放了很多心血去準備的婚禮當日的時間表交到他們手中.

寫了三個月wedding blog也沒有提及太多關於我們Wedding GM. EasTa 他們是我在大學認識的, 但都是畢業後做義工變得熟起來. 他們很好人很好人. 很多事也替別人想得周到. 跟他們在一起就是很舒服. 今年我們還成為鄰居, 真是我們的福氣.

初時, 我們以為我們的wedding應該會很簡單. 當我們的wedding GM 應該沒有甚麼要做. 找這對住在我們隔鄰, 下年結婚的朋友幫幫忙就最好不過. 說真, 如何簡單的婚禮都有很多細微的東西要跟進. Wedding GM有何時會任務簡單? 但想不到的是EasTa 如何認真, 很多東西他們都主動幫我們想, 而且非常非常仔細. 萬二分感謝!

只有一個多星期便到我們的婚禮, 把我們的wedding schedule交給這兩個我們非常信任的朋友, 我們就可以好好放鬆一下, 等待我們大日子的來臨.

Billy昨晚冒着風雪到我們家弄Slide Show. Ka和我两個都是極重視相片的人, 所以Billy的工作真不易. 首先要在200Gb的相片(還要大部分是風景相及Billy從未見過的人的相)中找五分鐘的slideshow materials已經不是每個人都做到. (真要給他十個叻! 叻!叻!叻!叻!叻!叻!叻!叻!叻!叻!)

希望Billy沒有被我們的認真嚇壞 (昨晚弄到成一點呢! 不過我們可productive呀. 揀好相, 排好次序, 還選了音樂). Slideshow 還有一個多星期便面世了! Billy大佬, thank you thank you!

I am surprised to hear our friends would actually follow our wedding to-do list on this blog. That really shows me how much of our friends care about us. :) :) :) 两個星期便是我們的婚期了, 我們剩下要做的只餘下少少東西.

我生命中最重要的花 My Wedding Bouquet

今日跟Vivian去了Flower Market揀花做我的花球和其他VIP的花. Viv一向都對花很了解. 初時怕Vivian忙, 想只問問Vivian 意見. 但後來還是很想很想找Vivian做花球, 因為她做事很細心, 所以便即管開口問問. 真開心她答應幫我們!

一開始她便不斷MSN ideas給我, 我就越說越興奮 (我之前對花完全沒有興趣). Viv真係好好. She is so good with understanding what I want.

我把The Flower of My Life 交給這個Flower is her Life 的朋友來做, 一定漂亮. 期待見到我的花球!

"我會愛你一生一世"

今天我們去了見為我們主持婚禮的officiant, 聽他說說我們婚禮的流程. 林博士為人真的很風趣. 相信當天一定會在輕鬆的氣氛下完成典禮.

不知怎的, 當他叫Ka跟他說交換戒子時說的誓詞時, 那些去別人婚禮聽了覺得很感動的 "我會愛你一生一世", "不分不離", 的說話, Ka一說我就笑壞肚皮. (幸好今天去見見林博士, 真不能想像今天就是actual wedding, 真失禮). 不是我們不愛對方, 只是有些東西用心去感受, 用行動來表示好了 (MSN都可以). 說出來真是怪怪的. 為免我們在婚禮中不停的笑, 我們已經決定不會說那些了(at least not in Chinese).

從天而降的紙盒

到wedding 前的那個星期五我和Ka兩個要把所有wedding 用品一盒一盒的搬到八樓的Arcadian Court. 早兩個星期還擔心怎樣搬運那三十四個centerpieces. 公司printing room 的paper boxes只能放到三個centerpieces. 天呀, centerpieces也十多盒, 就算泊到車, 把它們搬到上樓, Arcadian Court也未必肯keep十多盒東西!

我需要的是個平面又大又正方, 但又要很矮, 又要超級sturdy的盒. 這樣的盒子其實我也不是見過很多次. 怎料, 當我還不知怎算的時候, 我的dream box從天而降!

上個星期一, 當我跟同事去"Timmies" coffee break 時竟然在公司的hallway中間發現個10"高, 30" x 30"的硬盒子. 嘩! 真是最最最perfect不過!! 當然, 公司裡是絕不能 "finders keeper" 的. (我們公司都算secure, 很少會一個大盒在hallway中間沒人理.) 所以我只好把它踢到一旁. 猜不到半個小時之後紙盒還在!! 打開盒看看, 裡面空空的, 便拿了它回家. 一試便發覺剛好fit到九個centerpieces! Ka第二天問問IT 的同事. 原來最近他們換router, 剛好有一堆這樣的盒! 拿了三個回家. We got the perfect boxes to pack our perfect centerpieces perfectly! 實在太幸運. 好開心呀!!

More fun wedding prep

More fun doing wedding preparations this weekend. We did a site-visit to Arcadian Court with our two wedding GMs. When I saw Ah Tung taking out his grid paper pad and started scribbling, I felt our wedding will fall smoothly in the hands of these two engineering GMs.

We also did some shopping. It was really fun shopping for "these items". Sorry, another little surprise that we will keep. If we reveal too much, there won't be any surprise left for people reading this blog! :) [But since I am so bad with keeping secrets, I will leak out a bit... a blurred photo.]

Wedding SOS TV Show?

You won't believe this. I got a phone call from my makeup artist: "Hi Corrie. I just got a phone call from SLICE, the TV producer. They are looking for a couple getting married in December to be on their show!" What?! Wedding SOS? For those who don't know. Wedding SOS shows on HGTV (or SLICE), starring frantic couples who need help near the end of their wedding. A wedding planner will be there to coordinate the wedding day, and grant three wishes to the couple through-out the filming. (In the episodes I watched, Jane Dayus-Hinch has always been the planner. She has planned celebrity weddings. I really admired how well she handles stressed couples.)

Sounds pretty cool. It will definitely be a very memorable wedding. But I am not stressed about the wedding now (If a TV crew follows us around, we would) and we have organized everything already with a great helping team! And if I ever want to be a wedding planner or event coordinator, why would I want to look unorganized on a TV show? (Definitely a CLM - Career Limiting Move) And we are bad actors. I can't act like I am frantic when I am not...

What do you say I should wish for if I do have three wishes? I guess I can ask them to do my MBA papers for me...

Like Ka said, we won't be qualified for the show anyway. We have too little left to do. Oh well. It's still good for a laugh. I say let's not make our wedding a show, and just keep it personal.

We got our Rings!

We got our wedding bands tonight! Plain and Simple. Matching. 我一向都喜歡"有咁簡單得咁簡單"的結婚介子. 也很想很想跟Ka的wedding bands同一個style, 所以揀了這款. 今晚看到盒中两隻小指環, 想想還有一個月後, 我們左手的無名指就會帶着它們, 又想想這兩隻小玩意可真代表着很多意思(隨了我們的愛外, 更加提醒大家we are no longer available :P - may be I should make Ka wear the ring to his bachelor party... ...)

初初都有想過買有一小鑽石的wedding bands, 但Ka的手指粗粗的, *bling-blings*就是不太襯他 (or 他不太襯*bling-blings*). :P 算吧. Bling-bling jewelleries留番老公第時"tum"老婆用吧!

GCC Cake - a few days later...

I put our wedding cake on our kitchen counter top. Every time I walk pass it, I would:

Stop, admire it for a minute, then say: "I looove our cake so much!", then turn to ask Ka: "Don't you think our cake is soo pretty?", admire it for a bit more, make another comment: "I really think our cake is pretty.", then walk away, still thinking about our cake. :)

It may not be a professionally designed / made cake, but it's designed by the GCC team (Gladys, Chiesa, Corrie), so to me, it is the very best cake. :)

結婚大大大蛋糕

跟Chiesa and Gladys design 了我們的結婚大大大蛋糕. 非常好玩. 真想design多幾個. I can't blog more about the cake designing event without giving too much details. All I can say is, it's super fun!

The Hardworking Wedding Bees

一個星期的Reading week 又完了. 我們做了很多很多, 睡得很少很少. 最近很多人問我我們怎能兼顧到這麼多 - work, families, school, wedding. Let us share with you our secret formula:

Tuxes

The boys got their tuxes! 因為我們只需要租一套給best man, 所以我們沒有四處隔價(一套省不了太多錢), 只選了間地點方便的 -- First Markham Place的Moore's.

參加其他人的婚禮, 大部分時間我都不會太留意男孩子的服裝. 所以被問及要甚麼style, 要甚麼顏色, 真的一頭霧水. 我們三個人(Ka, me, and Ray)坐在Moores's的sales guy前你眼望我眼, 大家都"I don't know.. What do you think?", "It's up to you~~" 真好笑.

最後只好靠sales 哥哥姐姐來幫我們作主意(They looked pretty well dressed. So I trust their fashion sense). 其實好彩Raymond不是那些"yim yim jim jim"的男孩子! (At least not on picking a tux. That makes our job so much easier.)

Fitting for 伴娘裙

星期六跟Vikki去為她的伴娘裙試身. 其實也不需要怎樣改, 因為已經很合身. 條裙真的很適合Vikki. 她穿得很漂亮很漂亮. 越看越喜歡! (Vikki, 據我看, 你應該還可以肥一吋, 所以你在香港還可以盡情地吃!)

伴娘裙子是跟顏妝 (Faces Bridal)買的 (婚紗也是跟他們租). 幫我們的Connie超級好人. 她一直像幫自己朋友般去幫我們. 懂得找合我們心水合我們身型的裙子. 讓我們試完一條又一條. 很有心機地為我們講解what works and what doesn't. 裙子也是她親手改的. 每次見到Connie她都佈滿笑容歡迎我們, 令我們每一次visit都開開心心!

Have you RSVP'ed?

We have finally managed to give out all our wedding invitations. We chose to hand deliver as many invitations as possible. That required more effort but it is nice to meet up with friends (These days, people are always busy and it's a lot harder to see each other.)

Since we started delivering our invitations, we watch for new comments in our online guest book and RSVP replies every night. Ka and I are always excited to see new replies.

The next step: Collect RSVPs. Because we will have to give the head count to the restaurant really soon! So~~~ if you haven't replied yet (*ahem*)... you know what you should do. :)
